What are SportUP Divisions?
Spoiler: none of them involve a podium, a national anthem, or a drug test.
SportUP is a social sports competition, which means we're built around one thing above all else: having a genuinely good time.
We've got divisions to match where you're at, whether you haven't kicked a ball since school or you play every week and just want a good crew to run around with.
Here's how it breaks down.
🌟 Super Duper Social
The most beginner-friendly division we've got.
If your team has never played together before, or some of you have literally never played the sport at all, this is your people.
No experience required. No judgment. Just a great way to learn the game while actually enjoying it.
😄 Super Social
Here for a good time, not a good score.
If you haven't played in years, or you're just getting back into it, Super Social is your home.
It's relaxed, it's fun, and nobody's going to give you a hard time for forgetting the rules.
A couple of things to know:
- If your team lands in the top 1 or 2 spots on the ladder for two seasons in a row, you'll be bumped up to the next division automatically.
- If you've been in this division for more than four seasons, your team may be moved up at the Manager's discretion. Think of it as a compliment.
🔊 Social
You've played a few seasons. You know the drill.
This division is for teams who show up regularly and want to play against others who do the same.
But here's the thing: it's still social. The vibe still matters.
- Rough, overly competitive play won't be tolerated.
- Unsportsmanlike or unsocial behaviour will be addressed, full stop.
You can be a regular and still be fun to play against. That's the whole point.
What Does "Social" Actually Mean?
Good question, and worth saying out loud.
SportUP is not a competitive league. We're not the Olympics.
We're a place where adults can feel happier, build genuine friendships, get a bit fitter, and have a laugh doing it.
That's it. That's the whole thing.
If your team is more focused on winning than on enjoying the game, SportUP probably isn't the right fit. And that's okay, but it's worth knowing upfront.
What we do expect from every team, every week:
- Respect for your teammates, your opposition, and the referee. Always.
- No swearing, no aggressive behaviour, no talking back to refs.
- No unsportsmanlike carry-on, from anyone in your team.
If an issue is reported, your team receives one official warning. A second incident means your team is removed from the competition without a refund, and from all future SportUP competitions.
We know that sounds serious, and honestly, it is. Because we genuinely care. A lot.
Every person who rocks up on game night deserves to have a great time, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We put real effort into making sure our competitions feel welcoming, safe, and fun for absolutely everyone. That's not just a policy. It's the whole reason we do this.
Come for the sport. Stay for the people. That's what every division is really about.
