🏆 What are Social Points?

Social Points are our way of making sure our club stays actually social. While we love a bit of competition, these points help us reward the teams that bring the best vibes to the court or field every week.

How does the scoring work?

After every game, your total score (out of 9 possible points) is made up of three parts:

The Game Result: Win = 3 points | Draw = 1 point | Loss = 0 points.
Official's Rating: Our referees/umpires give you a score out of 3.
Opposition Rating: Your opponents give you a score out of 3.

The best part? Even if you lose the game, you can still walk away with 6 points just by being legendary humans! Plus, referees can award 1 Bonus Point to teams that truly embody our values and make the game extra fun.

What do the ratings mean?

We use a simple 1-3 scale to help teams understand their impact on the game:

3 Points	Amazing!	Everyone on our team had an enjoyable time playing this opposition, there were no problems with any of their players. The team was fair in their gameplay and apologised if they made an accidental bad tackle. The team listened to the referee and followed any calls they made without exception. Overall, our game was fun.
2 Points	Pretty Good	Most of our players enjoyed playing against most of the opposing team's players. Our opponents exhibited some sportsmanship throughout the game. Our opponents sometimes questioned calls from the referee. Overall, the game was okay, but there were a few isolated plays that weren't enjoyable.
1 Point	Not so Great	Players did not enjoy playing against most of the opposing team's players. Our opponents exhibited a lack of sportsmanship throughout the game. Our opponents did not listen to the umpires resulting in rude, unsportsmanlike or dangerous instances. Overall, several discrepancies or opposing players made the game not much fun to play. Overall, this team was not fun at all to play against.

The SportUP Goal: We want every game to be a "3-Point" experience! When everyone plays fair and keeps it friendly, the whole league wins.

Teams with high scores will get rewards handed out at the end of the season.
Teams that receive a score of less than 2 will get a call from us to discuss the game and potentially recieve a warning.
Teams that continue to receive a score of less than 2 will get a warning and may be removed from the competition without a refund.

SportUP has the right to take any action deemed necessary in the best interests of all participants.
